Sally Palmer Dawley
My First Dance In Heaven

ere on Earth is a man,
Who is one hundred and three.
When the music is on,
He tries to dance with me.

Slowly he stands,
From the chair where he sits.
We boogie for seconds,
With his hands on my hips.

Then down he goes, to his chair, with a smile on his face.

His time will come someday,
He will get there before me.
With is wife by his side,
For all eternity.

This friend has made a promise,
And when he keeps it we’ll be even.
To meet me at the Pearly Gates
For my first dance in Heaven.
